Surrounded by the Dentelles de Montmirail, Mont Ventoux and Mont Saint Amand, this incomparable site is a prime location for the production of quality wines. The high altitude provides a cooler microclimate in summer, with a constant breeze, and mild winters with minimal frost.
Our vineyards are divided into numerous plots, enabling us to claim several appellations. These hillside plantations require mainly manual labour.
The vineyard lies on Triassic rock. Buried under more than 1,500 metres of sediment, this geological layer reappears at the surface, giving our soils ochre to violet hues. This ancient rock gives us a highly diverse range of wines
The heavy, compact soils give structured, concentrated wines like our Beaumes de Venise. Conversely, light, draining soils produce supple, fruity wines, such as the vines surrounding the Château du Barroux, which give our Ventoux its distinctive character.
