Last spring, the Beaumes de Venise AOC had the pleasure of welcoming Jamie Goode, a renowned wine journalist and taster. Drawing on his expert knowledge, he set out to discover our appellation, its terroirs and the estates that bring it to life.
On this occasion, several of our Beaumes de Venise wines were tasted and assessed by the journalist from Wine Anorak. Four of our wines received excellent scores, accompanied by particularly encouraging comments.
For us, this feedback is a wonderful recognition of the work carried out at Domaine des Garances. Discover his impressions!
Domaine des Garances Alazard Beaumes de Venise 2024
- 14.5% alcohol. Organic. 65% Grenache, 35% Syrah.
Beautifully expressive nose with a fine peppery edge to the sweet berry fruits. The palate is elegant and expressive with nice dusty tannins providing a backbone, and a sense of freshness to the fruit. Juicy and expressive, this is really good. 94/100
Domaine des Garances Le Jas du Chene Beaumes de Venise 2023
- 14% alcohol. Organic. 50% Grenache, 50% Syrah.
Rich, vivid, juicy and spicy with a subtle cured meat edge to the lush blackberry and cherry fruit. Nice definition to this wine, with some structure and spice on the finish. 93/100
Domaine des Garances Pierre Beaumes de Venise 2022
- 14.5% alcohol. 50% Carignan, 25% Grenache, 25% Syrah. Organic.
Juicy, vivid and bright with red cherry and redcurrant fruit and some nice structure. There’s a great energy to this wine, with the Carignan bringing freshness and the Syrah and Grenache filling in the holes. Really lovely. 94/100
Domaine des Garances Le Pas de L’Aube Beaumes de Venise 2021
- 14.5% alcohol. 75% Syrah, 25% Grenache. Organic.
The fruit has receded a bit but there’s nice structure here, with a hint of mint and spice as well as compact berry fruits. Grippy and tannic on the finish. There’s substance here. 91/100
